The south of Iceland experienced heavy ashfall and sporadic glacial floods (Jökulhlaup)that affected the local farming communities. Activity at Eyjafjallajökull dropped considerably after May 22nd and the volcano is now mostly "dormant". The images were captured on the few days of clear weather after the eruption started.
